Why do I need a converter for Starlink Mini?
Starlink Mini needs a stable 12V+ at the dish to run reliably. The problem is your 12V battery — especially when the engine is off — drops to 12.6V or lower. After voltage loss through cables, you can end up below the minimum. A step-up converter boosts your 12V to a stable 30V, so your Starlink runs reliably whether you're driving or parked up at a free camp.
My Starlink works while driving but dies when I stop — why?
Your alternator puts out 13.5–14.4V while the engine runs. The moment you stop, battery voltage drops and cable losses push it below what the Mini needs. A step-up converter eliminates this completely.
What connection type do I need for the power supply?
Anderson plug if you're wired into an auxiliary battery system (most common for caravans). Cigarette socket plug for a quick, no-install setup. Ring terminals if you're connecting direct to battery.

How much clear sky does Starlink Mini need?
More than most people expect. Starlink needs a wide, unobstructed view — not just directly overhead. Tree cover is the most common cause of poor performance at campsites. Use the Starlink app's obstruction tool before you set up.
Does Starlink Mini work under trees?
Poorly or not at all. Even scattered tree cover degrades performance significantly. You may need to position the dish away from your van in a clearing using a longer cable.
Will a magnetic mount work on my caravan roof?
Only on steel surfaces. If your roof is fibreglass, aluminium, or composite, test with a fridge magnet first. If it doesn't stick, you'll need mounting discs or a roof rack mount instead.

Do I need both the Pro Flow 12 and the UV-C Steriliser?
The Pro Flow 12 removes sediment, chemicals, and heavy metals. The UV-C Steriliser kills bacteria and viruses. Together they give you complete protection — filtration plus sterilisation. If you're only filling from town water, the Pro Flow 12 on its own is solid. If you're drawing from tanks, bores, or creek water, add the UV-C.
What are PFAS and should I be worried?
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are man-made "forever chemicals" found in tap water across Australia at trace levels. Recent research from Adelaide University found even low levels can impact fertility and cause DNA damage. Carbon filters — like those in the Pro Flow 12 — are proven to remove PFAS from drinking water.
Will the filter slow down my water pressure?
The Pro Flow 12 is designed to maintain full pressure. You won't notice a difference in your showers or kitchen tap.
Can I install it myself?
Yes — no electrician or plumber needed. The Pro Flow 12 connects inline to your existing plumbing with standard fittings.
