Product Details

The complete Starlink Mini setup — mount it, power it, and grab it in one hand. One kit.

No drilling. No brackets. No inverter. The magnetic mount locks your Starlink Mini to any steel roof in under 60 seconds, the booster runs it straight off your caravan or 4WD battery through an Anderson plug, and the bolt-on carry handle lets you lift the whole lot on and off in one hand.

Why you need the booster: the Mini takes 12–48V, so a 12V system looks like it should be fine. It isn't. Your battery sags under load, you lose more voltage over Starlink's 15m cable, and the dish grabs around 60W on startup while it hunts for satellites. Dip under the minimum and you get dropouts, or it won't power on at all — usually the night you've parked up somewhere good. The booster lifts your supply to a steady 30V and holds it, parked or moving.

And it runs on 12V AND 24V. Most boosters on the market are 12V only — check the input range before you buy one elsewhere. If it says 9–16V, it won't run your truck.

Designed and tested in Australia.

Materials & Construction

Mount: die-cast aluminium base, powder-coated and UV stable. Heavy-duty magnets. Low-profile design that cuts wind drag and clears overhanging branches.

Booster: IP68-rated housing — dust-tight and submersible. Not "weather-resistant", not "splash-proof". Sealed. Built-in fuse protection, automotive-rated wiring.

Handle: Black and White are standard PETG — durable, UV-stable, weatherproof. Premium Carbon Fibre is about twice as stiff and heat-resistant to 85°C, in a matte black finish. The carbon is chopped-fibre reinforced (not woven like a car bonnet) — that's what gives it the stiffness and heat tolerance.

Booster input: 12V / 24V DC. Output: 30V DC, 3.5A max (105W).

What's Included

VANKOR Magnetic Roof Mount — heavy-duty magnets on a low-profile aluminium base. Sits flat, no wobble, no rattle. Holds at highway speed and over corrugations. Protective top cover included.

VANKOR Starlink Mini Booster — DC-to-DC step-up converter. Steady 30V at up to 3.5A (105W), real headroom over the dish's 60W startup spike. Runs on 12V and 24V. IP68 waterproof and fused. Anderson plug fitted.

Converter Plate — bolts the booster neatly under the mount so the whole thing travels as one tidy unit. No zip ties, no brackets.

Carry Handle — threads onto the mount, no tools. One-handed carry from roof to camp. Choose Black, White or Premium Carbon Fibre.

Installation & Maintenance

Sit the mount on your roof, plug the Anderson into your auxiliary battery system, plug the DC output into the Mini. Online in under a minute. No tools, no drilling, no electrician, no holes in your roof.

The handle threads straight onto the mount — no tools, no adhesive.

Steel roof? You're ready to go. Fibreglass, aluminium or composite? The magnets have nothing to grab. Hold a fridge magnet to your roof — if it doesn't stick, add our adhesive Steel Mounting Discs or the Roof Rack Feet.

Mount it flat with all four magnetic feet in full contact with the roof. That's what gives you the full hold. On a curved or uneven surface where the feet can't sit flush, the grip is reduced — check the fit before you drive off.

Nothing to maintain. The booster is IP68 — leave it where it lies.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why do I need a 30V converter for the Starlink Mini?

The Mini takes 12–48V, so 12V is technically in range — the catch is a real 12V system rarely holds a clean 12V. Battery sag under load and voltage drop over the long 15m cable pull it under the minimum, and the dish draws around 60W on startup while it finds satellites. Dip below what it needs and you get dropouts, an unstable connection, or it won't power on — usually right when you've parked up for the night. A step-up converter lifts your supply to a steady 30V, giving plenty of headroom so it powers up and holds a solid connection, parked or moving, even on long cable runs. Choose the Complete Setup.

My Starlink works while driving but dies when I stop — why?

Your alternator puts out 13.5–14.4V while running. The moment you stop, battery voltage drops and cable losses push it below what the Mini needs. A DC converter fixes this completely.

What connection type do I need for the power supply?

Anderson plug if you're wired into an auxiliary battery system (most common for caravans and Utes). Cigarette socket for a quick, no-install setup. Ring terminals for a direct-to-battery connection.

What's the cover made of, and does it block the signal?

It's plastic, about 3.5mm thick. It does not affect the Starlink signal or performance. A bonus is that it protects the unit as well.

My roof isn't steel — what are my options?

Magnets only hold on steel. For fibreglass, aluminium or composite roofs, use the adhesive mounting discs
